I meant to blog on our recent trip to OUG UK trip last week.   But as always, time has a mind of its own, especially in December.  There is never time in December.  It is the shortest month of the year.  If December were human, it would be a dwarf.  If December were an arm, it would be my right arm.  Makes sense does it?  Huh?

Gunnar and I took a really early flight out to London on Monday from where we drove to Birmingham.  Gunnar drove and I think it was about half way there when he remarked – „Huh, funny.  They drive on the left side of the road?“.  These English people know a thing or two about databases but someone surely has to teach them on which side to drive and how to assemble their cars!

In Birmingham I never actually managed to see a single presentation.  The mingling took all our time, meeting up with old and new friends and acquaintances.  We had dinner with Mark Rittman and his colleagues in RittmanMead along with Börkur Steingrímsson, who has now gone independent, Jon Mead of course and some more people, including Lisa Dobson who had I believe 2 presentations there (Börkur 1, Lisa 2 and Mark 5 – I think I‘m not lying ).  We also had dinner and drinks with the likes of Tom Kyte and Graham Wood and of course with the Godfather, Don Mogens Nörgaard who had established an „office“ in at least one bar if not more.

We hit back on Wednesday morning, leaving Birmingham around 5 am since this is a 3 hour drive.  The best thing that can be said about the flight back is that it was short.  End of blog.
